Guide Review - Evanescence - Call Me When You're Sober

There are plenty of Evanescence fans out there that have been waiting impatiently for something new, and "Call Me When You're Sober" should do the trick. There's a bit more zip in tempo than some of the past Evanescence favorites, but otherwise little has changed. Amy Lee's throaty voice soars over crunchy power chords that give way to quiet, contemplative moments.

Rock has diminished significantly in recent years as a presence on pop radio. (...) It will be a good thing for pop radio diversity to add Evanescence back into the fold.

"Call Me When You're Sober" is the first single from the upcoming album The Open Door. The band has also recently announced they will be hitting the road to promote the album in concert. "Call Me When You're Sober" may not be a #1 smash, but look for it in the top 10 in weeks to come, and, perhaps, it may pull some more rock music onto pop playlists in its wake.
